the story of Hadancy
heres her story


After being with out a horse for 20 years . I met a lady that had two grey arabs. I was intrigued and wished I could have a horse. once again. later I was volunteering at the recycling depot when she came in and said she had to find a place for her mare the other one was out on lease. this women was going to school and would not have time to exersize her energretic Arab.
I longed to get in touch with horses again so I blurted out that I would exercise her ......the next day I went to try her out!. Well I fell in love with HADI a fleabitten white (grey) 19 year old ,with extreme energy .

Although she was a lot to handle my horse sense was not hard to access. We bonded instantly and had three great years when Colieen decided to sell her. promiseing to arrange for me to stay involved . Because she knew that the partnership Hadi and I had was the special.
I only wished I could buy her but did not think I had the resources to do so. Then one day Colleen said that she would keep her if I paid for half her keep! I ended up paying all of it and found other wayes to give her a good quality life so I then began making payments for Hadi.I never had a mare before and new nothing about mares in heat till . she ran off at the first chance she got to ACE a Morgan/ Appalossa stallion.
That day I drew from my emergency money and went to Colleen I told her that from the minute I made the deposite I considered Hadi my horses, but now I will pay her off !, because Hadi could possible be pregnant and I want to make sure that there was no question that the foal would be mine!..... as a 22 year old senior horse I never would have bred her but that was kind out of my hands 4 days short of a year Hadancy a filly was Born,
Hadi was too old to give birth easily and Hadancy was a big foal, so the birthing was difficult indeed Hadi got a huge case of Edema in the last few days and .a hernia and finally she ruptured! she should not have been able to give birth in the normal way , had we known she might've been sacrficed to save the foal ! As it happened Hadancy was pulled and Hadi lived long enough to help me raise her foal. The best experience was that when Hadancy was free of the womb she was placed on my knees. I rubbed her down I felt her lean into my chest and such a wonderous sense of love over came me! Hadancy leaped from my arms and her new legs splayed not holding her weight, but she was able to get up and I wrapped my arms around her waist to guide her to Hadi's head introduceing her to Hadi who was too to exhausted to get up We enncouraged her to get up and she nibbled Hadancy's ear with a look that said "so thats what this was about" lol then DAY (her short name ) Lead her mom about the feild. took her 4 hrs to find her first drink, she drank from her moms water bucket instead, I tried to show her where to suckle but she would not be made to do anything
Hadancy is just nibbly plain and simple. she's strong willed independent, tit for tat, little horse , she is mostly gentle and loving and fair and very responsive to learning ..... we never reapeat any lesson but if she doesnt think your fair she comes back at ya three times over every issue. an attitude that could get her into trouble!. I had to learn to be consistant, firm and fair too !
Her paintings are a a growth out of the bucket trick
I had taught her mom to pick up her grain bucket and give it to me Day copied this. one day she went and got the bucket on her own carrying it to me from about 15 ft. next I would toss the bucket and she'd go get it , this deveoped into many tricks such as fetching balls and playing zylaphon and basket ball , but the day she brushed my hair I wondered what else she could do. A friend my farriers wife told me about the Elephants in Thailand painting and making a living at it . well Day did it first try, has been painting ever since.
Painting is a way I have of being at one with my horse since I hold the canvas and prepare the paint . She takes the brush in her mouth and strikes and dabs the canvas . All brush strokes are hers . I do not move the canvas at all!. She absolutely loves to do this !. and does it at liberty free to walk away but she waits while I get more canvas and paint, we do three painting in one session and complete the work in three sessions with me deciding when to finish. ah she would paint on and on till the painting becomes over worked. We use nontoxoic acrylic, on canvas paper 16x 20

Having a horse who paints is more then a dream come true! As I have been into art and horses. all my life but never could've dreamed that I would have one that can share my art with me!. Hadancy being born to me is a true gift horse, in so many ways!
For many years I've just been basicly in survival mode until I finnaly got my land and along came Hadancy I had a dream of going to auctions and rescueing horses from the kill buyer. SINCE I LOST MY FIRST HORSE SUMMERWINE TO THE MEAT MAN alas never and still don't have the resources to actually do that . But with the computer and a horse that can earn her keep with Painting I relized I could at least give donations to those that are and at the same time bring about AWARENESS that thousands of horses are in trouble and need help ! .

I'm not the only one to see potential here to do good for horses, many people think she will go far we've been in the local news paper and on a local TV show Lol that was hard for me but Day did it perfectly even helping me through with her comic antics lol.. .
. , I visualise her images made into clothing and saleble items such as books, mouse pads etc, for fundraisers for the to help horses at risk of slaughter or abuse..
We'er .just waiting for the right connection to do so.. . My life here is very happy ,quiet and peacefuL I'm on the shy side but will go . with the flow and see . my painting horse takes us. as long as THE CAUSE of horses at risk go along with us!

of the sales of her work I donate 1/3 to horse rescue 1/3 to keep her and 1/3 to keep me so I can look after HADANCY. better
